Lark Trunk Show began as a dream, inspired by one of Janette Hofmann's favorite aspects of design—finding the perfect piece of furniture for her clients. Lark Trunk Show will be a limited collection trunk show featuring Janette’s favorite pieces, including furniture, rugs, pillows, linens, art, lighting, and holiday decor.
Janette earned her Interior Design degree from Bassist College in Portland, Oregon, before heading north to Alaska. She spent 15 years in Ketchikan working for Native Corporations in Southeast Alaska, designing and managing construction projects, including retail stores, galleries, health clinics, drugstores, and a lodge.
Janette later returned to her roots in Bend, Oregon, where she continued working in design and project management. In 2000, she and her twin sister, Jennifer, founded an African non-profit and spent several months each year in Kenya, where they rebuilt dozens of schools, established and operated a children’s home, and supported over 400 orphaned children through secondary school.
In 2016, Janette moved to Sun Valley and now splits her time between Sun Valley, Bend, Oregon, and Ketchikan, Alaska.
As a designer, Janette has a deep understanding of how interiors come together—from the architecture of a space to the furniture and soft furnishings that fill it. She believes that color palette, material selection, and finishes are equally important, with each element playing a crucial role in creating a cohesive and innovative design.
Janette has a profound appreciation for a range of design periods and styles. She believes that well-balanced spaces are created through contrast and that interiors should tell a story about the people who inhabit them. She has been fortunate to work with exceptional clients on projects ranging from residential refurbishments and new builds to major commercial and hospitality fit-outs.
In her free time, Janette enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and traveling the world!
